About SIG Product Compliance

SIG Product Compliance

SIG UK have developed a Compliance Tracking System in order to provide all of our customers complete peace of mind when buying products from the following SIG businesses:

For a number of years we have been working in conjunction with our suppliers to ensure that all of the products we stock meet essential regulatory compliance. This means we have access to  compliance documents for Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACh), Safety Data Sheets (SDS), CE Marking, Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS), European Timber Regulation (EUTR), Biocidal Products, Poisons and Explosive Precursors, Psychoactive Substances, Conflict Minerals and Modern Slavery.

SIG’s Compliance Tracking System (‘SIG Assured’) will always be evolving to meet with the fast pace of changing legislation and product development;  you can be sure that we have robust processes to track and monitor who is, and which products, are compliant. In addition to this we have an on-line storage service in place that will provide you with up to date compliance and legal information about the suppliers we work with and the diverse range of products we stock.

Whenever you see the SIG ‘shield of assurance’ stamp, you can be confident that your purchase is fully traceable and supported by Compliance Tracking System appraisal.

Our Commitment to You

  • Stock items supplied by SIG have been considered against the following legislative requirements;

    • Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACh)
    • Safety Data Sheets (SDS) (e-SDS)
    • Product Safety & Handling  Sheets (where an SDS is not warranted)
    • Declarations of Performance/ Conformity (DoP / DoC) / CE Marking (Conformité Européenne)
    • Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS)
    • European Timber Regulations (EUTR)
    • Biocidal Products
    • Poisons and Explosive Precursors
    • Psychoactive Substances
    • Conflict Minerals
    • Modern Slavery
  • All products are supported by the appropriate relevant documentation
  • All documentation is validated for legal compliance
  • We have verified our suppliers claims around the legislative regulations of the products we source from them
  • We can trace the provenance of all our products

Peace of Mind

  • CE Marking can be exploited and in some cases attached to products that have not met the requirements of the applicable directive/regulation and their associated harmonised standards.  Using products that do not legally conform to standards can leave you with inferior products which are not fit for purpose and can be extremely dangerous presenting huge safety implications
  • SIG compliance administration goes beyond merely accepting a supplier document by checking the overall accuracy of the claims being presented
  • Failure to comply with all legislative requirements could result in large fines, imprisonment or enforced trading restrictions
